Layer a Higher Meaning into Each Moment of Work
What’s stopping you from showing up fully for your work?
Oftentimes, it’s not “more” knowledge, training, or ideas. The greatest obstacle I've seen in people is fear:
Fear of making a mistake… looking bad to others… disappointing yourself… fear of rejection… discouragement… tedious work.
Consider this mistaken perspective that causes the fear:
You believe that the result matters a lot.
It occupies a lot of your energy.
You think that the moment is all about the project you’re w…

Conscious Systems Design for a Better Life & Business
Your life is actually working perfectly.
And your business? It’s exactly where it’s supposed to be.
It’s not that you love all the results.
However, anything and everything occurring in your life has a system behind it. There’s cause and effect. You experience the effects… and you have more choice in the cause than you realize.
It’s true that there are some causes beyond your control, but you always have a choice of where you focus.

As you look at each task, does it fit all 3 criteria?
1. Enjoyment: You do (or wish to) enjoy doing it.
2. Expertise: You are (or wish to become) an expert at it.
3. Effect: This task has more worthwhile effects compared to other tasks you could …
Energy Reboot 2
This is a simple spiritual practice that I do, multiple times a day, that has made a profound and positive difference in my work.
Since it takes only 30 seconds, I do it at least 3 times each working hour (except when in a meeting).
I call it the Energy Reboot. Several years ago I published a blog post and video about it: Energy Reboot 1. (If you haven’t tried the first version, it’s a good starting point.)
Over the past 6 months I’ve been using a new version, which I’ll describe b…
