I see a lot of people making this mistake: buying into expensive business/marketing training programs...

In these programs, they're with a large group of other students (hundreds or more), with high hopes that the energy of the program will somehow propel them toward success.

As someone who has sold such programs myself -- and having been joint-venture partners with dozens of others who've sold this type of stuff -- I can tell you this...

The 3 Stages of Wise Content...

If you ever feel stuck in getting your content out there, you're not alone.

Many people make this thinking mistake:

Idea ==> Publish Perfect Content

When it's much more productive like this...

Idea, then...
==> Publish a quick draft, get reactions
==> If good engagement, then edit & re-publish

(if mediocre engagement, move onto next idea!)

The ABCs of Truly Happy Living...

Appreciation:

To be happier, we don't actually need more stuff. We do, however, need to appreciate more, what we already have. Becomeing a #HungryGhost is the result of thinking we need to buy more in order to be happy.

A habit of appreciating more, results in needing less and being less needy.
Needing less results in greater freedom and inner power, which is what we all really want.

The highest habit of appreciation is to appreciate that which is unpleasant or difficult. This ultimate skill is something to gradually work towards.

Begin by appreciating anything that is in your awareness now.

Appreciation is noticing how wonderful something is, how miraculous that it even exists, how grateful you are that it is in your life and awareness.

The result of appreciation is feeling one or more of these:
Gratitude
Awe
Joy

Social Media Caring (or What I Regularly Do On Facebook)...

There are 3 activities I do on Facebook regularly:

1. Post my business tips to my FB Biz Page George Kao and my political/spiritual views (occasionally business) to my FB Personal Page George Kao.

2. Engage with my Notifications (the globe icon at top nav bar with the red number) -- so I can reply to relevant comments.

3. Social Media Caring ... a few minutes here and there each day. This video is about how I do that.

The Golden Rule applies here -- to give others the kind of experience on social media that you too would like to receive.

Watch the tutorial.

Do the right thing, especially when you don't feel like it...

I didn't feel like making this video...

Conditions were sub-optimal -- I was dealing with seasonal allergies; I forgot my selfie stick so I had to hold the camera with my arm stretched out; I was at a park I rarely go to, so buddy the pup wasn't familiar with the place; and to top it off, I wasn't totally sure what I was going to say in the video.

Yet, I have a rhythm of content creation I'm dedicated to following, so I made the video anyway. It took 5 takes this time, instead of the typical 1-3 tries, but it ended up ok. May it be beneficial to those who watch it!

The other day I saw this advertisement...

STOP Selling! START Coaching!

...and this expert's "system" is supposed to help you stop selling, and yet get all the coaching clients you want.

Riiiight. I happen to actually know this person's system, and, I know that there is selling/marketing involved.

Marketers are sooo good at rationalizing... "what I teach is not *really* selling..." is what many will tell you.

What I recommend to you is this:

Look at the *actions* that expert / marketer is doing in front of you, to try to get you to sign up.
Those actions are likely the same things they will teach you to do...

How I avoid temptations and move toward the Good...

Do you ever feel tempted to engage in a bad habit that you're trying to quit? (Answer: all of us have)

When you feel that way, what do you do, to get back to feeling good -- without the crutch of an unhealthy addiction?

I welcome you to comment below.

Here's the practice that has been life-changing for me:

1. I take a moment and say to myself: "God is enough."
2. Then, as if that statement were true, I do something beneficial or productive, no matter how small, instead of my bad habit.

It always saves me.

I don't know if that phrase "God is enough" is meaningful and helpful to you. If it is, I encourage you to use it. If it's not, find another phrase/mantra that has profoundly healing meaning for you. Or some simple, healthy action you can take to get back to feeling good...

A brief NDE that beautifully describes the Reality that cradles us all...

"I went into respiratory failure while lying alone on the sofa one Saturday morning. Everything, including me, dissipated-- became like mist-- and I could see beyond the mist, although I wasn't really seeing anymore.

It was more like knowing what was beyond the mist that made up my body, the sofa, the room, the universe-- everything. I slowly realized that these things were insubstantial and that there was only one reality and I could sense the reality behind the insubstantiality of matter. The reality was very strong, overwhelming in fact, and singular. It had consciousness. It was alive. And it had personality-- it had characteristics. These were obvious: kindness, joy, love. It was as approachable and immediately lovable as a kitten.

It was clear that the reality was interacting with me, that its attention was directed toward me, although I had the sense that it looked at everything simultaneously in the same way. The reality was not bound by time. Strangely, neither was I. The quality of its attention was like that of a new mother holding her long-awaited firstborn child-- love, joy, delight, fascination, indulgence. I got the sense that it was pleased to be perceived. I did not feel separate from that reality. I felt myself coalesce with it and realized that I had always been embedded within it, bathed in it, cradled by it. As I melted, I was deeply ashamed to have so profoundly underestimated the love and joy of the reality. I wanted to give it something. I told it that I was sorry to have underestimated its kindness and that I wanted to give it something, anything. I would even go back if it wanted me to, for the tiniest reason at all. I said this because it was the biggest sacrifice I could think of, never ever wanting to feel separate from the reality again, snuggled up so safely and so joyfully in it, I had no desire for anything else ever again. Time had no meaning. The fog re-formed and rebuilt the world. Gently, I was back in my body. I cried for weeks."
